Jean-Claude Moisdon The Managerial Machine and Work : Short-Comings as Opportunities Researchers in management have gradually given up the idea that a model based on planning, measurement, and predictability can be defined for predetermining and piloting all acts of production. An ever improved modelization cannot make up for the short-comings left by the managerial machine. On the contrary, there must be taken to be opportunities for engendering new actors capable of playing the role of an interface and looking for compromises, thanks to arrangements that authorize bringing rules of behavior under scrutiny and eventually modifying them
