Este estudio analiza cómo se expresa el cuidado maternal a través del trabajo de alimentar. Mediante una aproximación cualitativa realizada en contextos urbanos socioeconómicamente precarios, la investigación identifica los criterios, normas o valores que estructuran dicho trabajo; cómo varía su organización según el acceso a recursos, y el efecto de estas variaciones en la producción de distinciones simbólicas entre representaciones morales de buenas o malas maternidades. Aun en entornos precarizados, la desigualdad en el acceso a recursos no sólo produce prácticas distintas de cuidado alimentario, sino también diferencias en la percepción de las madres respecto al desempeño de su rol
