Educational success and family investment. Zaihia ZEROULOU If the school results of immigrants' children are seldom « success stories », some of them nonetheless manage to reach the stage of college education. Endeavoring to explain such positive developments, we must evaluate the capacity of families to mobilize their resources in such a way as to overcome these obstacles. In relation to cultural change, this is linked first with the social characteristics of these families prior to emigration and secondly with the value that migrants place on achievement through the education of their children
