Il y a tout juste soixante ans sortait le premier numero de la revue L’Homme. Fondee conjointement par Claude Levi-Strauss, qui en etait le principal instigateur et architecte, Emile Benveniste et Pierre Gourou, elle annoncait d’emblee son propos par son sous-titre, dans un Garamond italiques en pleine page qui semblait souligner son penchant litteraire : L’Homme se donnait pour ambition de devenir la Revue francaise d’anthropologie.
