This article seeks to map the discourses that have been made based on ethnographies carried out by women around indigenous art in Mato Grosso do Sul, in particular the production of Kadiwéu ceramics. Also produced by women, Kadiwéu ceramics, as well as the paintings that adorned these pieces in the past, have attracted the attention of anthropologists at least since the first half of the 20th century, when they were the subject of reflections by two renowned anthropologists, Claude Lévi-Strauss and Darcy Ribeiro. Over time, other authors have continued their studies of Kadiwéu ceramics and graphics, emphasizing elements of continuity and innovation.Preliminarily, we can infer the uniqueness of the material culture of this ethnic group, to the point that it continues to arouse anthropological studies, linked to its meanings and relationships with other elements of culture, such as mythology, social organization and relationships between relatives
