El artículo repasa el recorrido crítico e intelectual de Leyla Perrone-Moisés, la principal introductora de Roland Barthes en Brasil, y se pregunta por los usos que ella ha hecho del autor francés para pensar la crítica y la literatura hasta la actualidad. Desde su reivindicación de la autonomía de la crítica en los años setenta hasta su actual defensa de la literatura, el artículo estudia sus estrategias de lectura del corpus barthesiano
