A review of "The Architects of Rock and Roll" exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. The exhibit is dedicated to three creative individuals whose contributions to rock and roll were bound up in the technology of radio, recording, and performance: disc jockey Alan Freed, recording engineer and producer Sam Phillips, and guitarist/recording pioneer Les Paul. The review also critically assesses the display of recording and reproduction devices dating from an early Edison cylinder to an Apple iPod, entitled "Listen to the Music: Rock and Roll and the Evolution of Audio Technology." The article concludes with a brief description of the new Rock Hall Library and Archives, a state-of-the-art research facility set to open to the public in 2012
