Inserted in the field of Cultural History, this study makes a reflection concerning the transformations that took place in the countrymen way of life, descending from families of European immigrants in the decades of 1940 and 1960, when these began to occupy areas next to the urban nucleus constituted by the city of Curitiba (capital of Paraná). To remain as a group, the families of those men created mechanisms to make possible, beyond survival, the maintenance of their familiar, religious and social traditions. This questions are the starting point of the present communication, which aims to present the strategies used by the group to reach economical stability, without changing their way of life
