Foreign students are common on college campuses in America. There are more than 50,000' at present representing the majority of the countries of the world.' Efforts have been made by sociologists, psychologists and educators to systematically study these groups, their attitudes, problems, plans and images of America. Attempts have been made to formulate theories to account for the observed facts of the cross-cultural interaction of Americans and representatives of these foreign cultures.2 Among areas sending students, representation from Europe, the Near East and the Orient has been greatest. Latin America and Africa have not contributed as many students over the years
