Il est souvent admis que l'Ascension d'Isaie contient une christologie qui se rapproche du docetisme en raison du passage sur la vie de Jesus en 11 : 2-21, de sa naissance decrite en des termes miraculeux et de sa venue cachee. Pour l'A., il ne peut s'agir de docetisme : l'auteur de l'Ascension d'Isaie pense que le Christ a reellement souffert, qu'il est reellement mort et qu'il a vraiment ressuscite. Il est donc preferable de presenter l'auteur de cet ecrit comme un catholique plutot que comme un docete
