The aspective conception of the image enabled the ancient Egyptians to unveil the content of a container by representing it alongside the latter or on its surface. By reason of the nature of the hieroglyphs, it is often difficult for us to decide whether these practices belong to writing or imagery. Ancient Greeks were not ignorant of certain of those ingenious devices. They knew how to put them into practice even after the development of perspective. As a matter of fact, in any epoch, there exists works whose elements are portrayed in perspective when their theme is conceived in an aspective way
