this article is the result of a conference held in IGPA/UCG (Goiânia -Goiás state) at IV Semana do Patrimônio Cultural.It presents the clay art of Jequitinhonha's river valley, a little town located in the northeastern of Minas Gerais state and it focuses attention to Izabel Mendes da Cunha that generously introduced many poor people of her community in clay art.Working clay art was very hard.Not only because it is very complex talking about it.But because there are central connections between clay art and collective life
