purpose, I shall first discuss metaphor, mention briefly larger and textual paradigms, and then focus on the connecting link between a metaphoric and a narrative text, the parable, in order to find out what is the differentia generica of narrative texts or narrativity. My hypothesis is that all texts are-by way of their paradigm, model, or macro-metaphor-based on a certain kind of metaphoricity, but that the narrative texts add to ones a concrete presentation in terms of space and time, the chronotope. (The upshot of my argument would therefore, more precisely, lead to calling these subdivisions only metaphorical vs. metaphorical-cum-narrative, but it might be confusing to start by changing accepted meanings.)
