This account of erosional piedmont surfaces, or pediments, in part of Little Namaqualand, South Africa, is based on field trips in 1949 and 1950 aided by grants from the University of Cape Town Staff Research Fund. Little has hitherto been written of this region, but its wealth of land forms and the useful supporting evidence of air photographs render it a profitable field of study.
