Effective teachers have three kinds of knowledge : knowledge about the subject matter they are teaching, knowledge of general instructional strategies and knowledge of specific strategies for teaching a particular subject matter. With knowledge of the world expanding at an exponential rate understanding of effective educational practice being continually modified and refined, teachers must regularly update their knowledge about content and pedagogy
