L'A. examine un ouvrage de Habermas: « Theorie de l'action communicative ». Habermas y expose une critique de la theorie de Goffman dont l'approche strategique et teleologique serait incapable de definir les conditions d'une communication raisonnee et non contraignante : caracteristique essentielle du langage pour Habermas. Cet article veut concilier les deux perspectives qui ne se placent pas sur le meme plan. Si Habermas cherche les conditions de comprehension dans la discussion Goffman etudie, lui, le role des idees fictives dans la conduite de la vie
