This essay is composed of eight letters written during the fall and winter of 2019. The author writes to feminists of color, drawing and building upon foundational feminist-of-color theories, to propose a relational research praxis of thinking with. Writing to feminists of color, rather than about feminisms of color, enables the author to think with feminists of color about the labor of knowledge production. Thinking with interrupts and reroutes normative logics of knowledge production by identifying the researcher's body as the central research instrument and by locating researchers as always in context and in relation to others. Across the letters, the author maps the contours of a relational research praxis that includes thinking with multitudes, thinking with aesthetics, thinking with conditions, and thinking with impossibilities. These relational research praxes orient researchers away from models of individual scholarship and mastery, and move them toward collaborative ways of being together in scholarship and knowing together through scholarship. As an aesthetic and performative writing practice, the author enacts an epistolary epistemology that does the work of thinking with that the letters describe
