Religious intolerance crosses the Brazilian social and historical context as a whole.Institutional dominance and long-standing Catholic Christian politics prevented any attempt to expand religious manifestations diverging from their dogmas. The scenario changes only from the twentieth century with the weakening of Roman supremacy in the country and subsequent evangelical rise.Together the whole process, are stigmatized and repressed religions of African origin especially Umbanda and Candomblé.If at first they were silenced by Catholic influence, we see recurrent attacks coming mainly from some Pentecostal Churches. The Christian influence is not restricted only to the religious scene in Brazil, also including institutional mobilization and highlighted political influence them giving different prerogatives against other religions. Thus, this article points to portrayals of Afro-Brazilian religious intolerance in the country in the face of influential political and institutional Christian domination
