Art curatorship has been analysed in academic discourse for several decades; however, it has received increased attention in the twenty-first century due to the shifts in curatorial practices and the development of new strategies. This article analyses existing curatorship strategies in the narrow context of museum management and curatorship, specifically the institutional and producing, exploring their functions and the evolving role of the curator in executing these functions, while also discussing both individual and collective curatorship models. Through a comparative analysis of the literature, this study identifies a critical gap in curatorship research, noting that existing curatorial functions are too broad and fail to accurately reflect the curator’s role and competencies leaving a gap in management-oriented approaches. To address this, the article introduces a new mixed curatorship strategy and its model, integrating traditional curatorship with management-driven approaches that emphasize operational and leadership aspects
