The current state of business ethics education suffers from difficulties in its attempts to bolster students’ professional ethics. The long-standing reliance on high doses of philosophy makes our educational attempts more focused on harrowing highbrow than on the necessary heuristics and practice concentrated on real-world decision-making. The article argues that we need to move students toward evidence-based understandings of business ethics. It is suggested that we focus ethics education on personal values and principles, understanding cognitive processes undermining good decision-making, practicing how to work within organizational and professional codes, and understanding how to develop the ethical organization
