In the last ten years the Italian Parliament has passed many laws establishing days. The State is apparently haunted by the need of governing the past. Hence an overflowing official memory, favouring more oblivion than recollection. Italy shares this particular climate with other European countries, since the implosion of official memory seems to be a common feature of the 20th century national States.
