Cet article élargit l’approche sémiotique de l’étude du vin et de la politique en se concentrant sur les messages politiques inscrits sur deux marques de vin moldave. En effet, des objets matériels tels que le vin peuvent faire l’objet de commentaires politiques sur les tensions de l’après-guerre froide en Moldavie. La réinterprétation des frontières nationales est mobilisée pour produire des « vins politiques » de manière calculée afin de s’assurer que ceux-ci épousent un marché de consommateurs susceptibles de réagir à une telle politisation de leur breuvage
