This collection of studies by different authors is concerned with urban development in Southern Europe with particular reference to the role of migration. The primary disciplinary approach is anthropological. The studies focus on Greece Italy Spain and Yugoslavia. For each country a national survey of urban research is first presented together with a national survey of rural-urban migration. A case study of urban life is also provided for each country.
