Beyond the Perfect Body: Contemporary Perspectives on Ableism in the Social Sciences In recent years, interest in critical studies on ableism has grown. This article analyzes the issue through three key dimensions identified after a narrative review of academic literature: the anthropological, which questions traditional notions of ability and disability; the psychosocial, which reevaluates social interactions through respect and equality; and the sociopolitical, which highlights the need to dismantle structures that perpetuate discrimination
