The long-distance heat is a folktale documented in four continents and included in Aarne and Thompson universal catalogue under the number AT 1262. It is very unfrequent in the Hispanic tradition. Only single texts from Toledo, Catalonia and the United States, and five Sephardic versions, had been documented until the recording of a new version in Extremadura in 1989. This one is the most rich and complete of any text documented in any Hispanic tradition
