The family concepts of two groups of ten families each, of higher and lower adjustment, were compared by means of the Family-Concept Q Sort and several other measures. The findings supported all the specific hypotheses of the study at reasonable levels of significance, as well as the general hypothesis that the actual adjustment of the family is in part a function of the family concepts of the parents
