Economic Class and Use of Physician Services

Two assertions about the effects of economic class on use of physician services are tested. It was expected that the net price of services would be more highly related to use among the poor than among high income persons, and that noneconomic predisposing factors would be more highly related to preventive use than to all types of use combined. These assertions were tested using data from a household survey of the Baltimore Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area. Multivariatc analyses of two dichotomous dependent variables support both assertions
