Understanding vitiligo-related concerns through online discourse: An AI-assisted cross-platform study of Chinese and global communities
Objective: To examine major vitiligo-related concerns expressed in Chinese and international social media discourse, and to compare differences in high-frequency questions across two online platforms. Methods: = 891). An AI-assisted workflow was used for translation, keyword extraction, and standardization of user-expressed questions, followed by researcher-led validation and thematic categorization. Differential Biodeterioration on Ceramics From the Baijiao No. 1 Shipwreck Induced by Hydroides and Bryozoans
This study investigates pottery recovered from the Baijiao No. 1 shipwreck to elucidate the effects of marine biofouling on ancient ceramics. A range of analytical techniques, including μ‐XRF, SEM‐EDS, XRD, Py‐GC/MS, and microbial sequencing, was employed. Results demonstrate that both hydroides and bryozoans generate salt‐rich microenvironments and induce distinct patterns of biodeterioration. Hydroides establishes an oxygen‐deficient microenvir…
Nonlinear relationship between intellectual property protection and renewable energy innovation in 27 countries
In the pursuit of global sustainability, renewable energy innovation (REI) plays a pivotal role in mitigating climate change and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. However, the development of renewable energy technologies is fraught with significant challenges, such as high upfront capital costs and technical uncertainties. Intellectual Property Protection (IPP) emerges as a crucial mechanism in this context, promoting knowledge diffusion and inc…
The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Load Capacity Factor in the G20
This study investigated the impact of artificial intelligence on the load capacity factor. Based on data collected from G20 countries from 1998 to 2017, the basic results indicated that artificial intelligence reduced the load capacity factor. The impact of artificial intelligence was also less noticeable in nations with higher load capacity factors, as shown by the quantile regression studies. The robust tests confirmed the negative influence. M…
Economic Policy Uncertainty and Energy Efficiency in OECD Countries: Exploring the Moderating Role of Environmental Policy Stringency
Energy efficiency is a major area of attention in international efforts to prevent climate change and optimise resource usage since it is essential for fostering sustainable economic growth. This study investigated the impact of economic policy uncertainty on energy efficiency in OECD countries. Based on availability, data from 25 countries were collected from 1990 to 2020. The basic results indicated that economic policy uncertainty improved ene…
Impact of Environmental Policy Stringency on Consumption-Based CO2: Role of Economic Policy Uncertainty in Top 11 GDP-Ranked Countries for EKC Hypothesis
Environmental issues are becoming increasingly severe, increasing the urgency to address ecological and environmental pressures. This study explores the relationship between environmental policy stringency and environmental degradation using data from the 11 largest economies by GDP from 1992 to 2020. Additionally, it examines the existence of the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) and the moderating role of economic policy uncertainty. First, the…
Micro-Raman Study of Chinese Iron-Based Brown Wares Produced During Song Dynasty (960–1279 CE): Probing Crystals in the Glazes
Brown glazed wares, as some of the famous Song wares, attract significant attention nowadays due to the glaze containing a large amount of metastable ε-Fe2O3, a promising multiple-functional electromagnetic material. In this work, typical fragments were systematically analyzed by micro-Raman spectroscopy combined with scanning electron microscopy as well as X-ray fluorescence. Abundant ε-Fe2O3 crystals were observed in the glaze surfaces, with th…
New evidence on technique, ingredients and provenance of Sui Dynasty white porcelain: A case study in Xi'an, ancient China capital city (A.D. 581–618)
Preserving sandstone artifacts in humid conditions: Antifungal efficiency of F-ZnO/SiO2 coatings
Tri-band electrochromic smart window for energy savings in buildings
Multifunctional organic-inorganic hybrid coating for enhanced bronze corrosion protection
Barnacle attachment and its corrosion effects on the surface of the Yangtze Estuary II Shipwreck
Wooden shipwrecks submerged in underwater environments are susceptible to physical and biological corrosion. This study investigates the microscopic morphology and structural composition of barnacles and the wooden surface of the Yangtze Estuary II shipwreck. Analytical techniques, including optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscope equipped with an energy dispersive spectrometer (SEM-EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron…
In-situ formation of one-dimensional silica for conservation of silicate relics using cellulose nanocrystals as templates
Due to air pollution and natural weathering, many silicate relics are severely degraded and in urgent need of conservation. Generally, consolidation materials are introduced into weathered silicate relics in liquid form, then solidify within to re-strengthen the weathered heritages. Obviously, consolidation materials will fill the voids in heritages, especially voids near the surface, thus resulting in significant loss in vapor permeability. In t…

Provenance identification of the high-fired glazed wares excavated from the Late Jin Dynasty (Dong Xia State) sites in Russia's Primorye Region
In this work, twenty-three pieces of high-fired glazed samples from the archaeological excavations of the Dong Xia sites in Russia's Primorye region were studied. In addition to visual observation, energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) techniques were jointly applied to the analysis of the chemical composition and microstructure of the samples. The major emphasis was placed on the pro…
A Landmark in the History of Chinese Ceramics: The Invention of Blue-and-white Porcelain in the Tang Dynasty (618–907 A.D.)
This study investigates the origin and development of Tang blue-and-white porcelain. Test samples consist of excavated shards of blue-and-white porcelain, white porcelain, Tang tricolor pottery, and blue-on-white pottery from the Tang strata of the Baihe and the Huangye kiln sites. The chemical compositions, firing temperatures, and physical properties were studied scientifically, and multivariate statistical analysis was applied to analyze the c…
The Use of Menthol as Temporary Consolidant in the Excavation of Q in S hihuang's T erracotta A rmy
Temporary consolidation is widely used to protect delicate artefacts or other fragile relics in art conservation. Although cyclododecane is extensively accepted, the safety‐related issues have become an increasing concern and its short working time is always annoying. Inspired by its low melting point, polar structure, well‐established safety profile, easy local availability and low cost, we propose menthol as a new temporary consolidant on the n…
