Modeling the relationship between internet epistemic belief, digital literacy and social media engagement of adult social media users
Social media engagement is part of our society, especially for the younger generation who are keen on technology. Nowadays, social media has become the most used platform to pick up information. Therefore, the increased number of social media users was not followed by the ability to distinguish between fake and authentic information online. There is a reason that drives someone to hold a specific belief since epistemic is a domain-dependent form …
Does a post-Covid-19 Digital Cultural Exchange course improve students’ multicultural literacy in Taiwan’s remote areas
Multicultural education (ME) is an emerging concept to fulfil society's demands to perform effectively in culturally diverse environments. Students in remote areas have little opportunity to be engaged in ME due to geographical barriers and the COVID-19 effects. This study proposed a Digital Cultural Exchange course in Taiwan where remote students as tutees were paired with diverse tutors to expose them to ME in the post-COVID-19 era. A quasi-exp…
Online learning environments for transferable skills development
This review examined the impact of online learning environments (OLE) on acquiring transferable skills (TS) through an analysis of 31 papers from the Web of Science database. Significant attention is given to critical thinking and communication skills, with moderate consideration given to creativity, problem-solving, and cooperation skills. Lesser emphasis is placed on negotiation, decision-making, self-management, resilience, and participation, …

Effects of surface acting on exhaustion of Korean school counselors
This study investigated the impact of surface acting on exhaustion in Korean school counselors. Using the daily diary method with 223 school counselors, the study examined how maintaining a positive outward image through surface acting is related to job exhaustion. The results indicated that surface acting at both Level 1 and Level 2 positively affects exhaustion. Additionally, a supportive administrative climate negatively predicted exhaustion. …
Experiential Learning
Community-oriented education has witnessed an increasing interest in online service-learning opportunities. Digital Learning Companion is an online service-learning project supported by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education to give students experiential learning opportunities and practice social responsibility. As part of the initiative, 189 local and international students served as tutors for remote children. A mixed-methods design, including pre- and…
Effect of design-based learning on elementary students computational thinking skills in visual programming maker course
Recently there has been a change in elementary curricula to focus on computational thinking, however, a good curriculum needs to be matched with good learning or teaching strategies. This study explores design-based learning (DBL) in elementary students to examine the development of computational thinking and to support knowledge construction in designing final products. An experimental design was used with 64 students; divided into experimental …
The effect of using theodolite 3D AR in teaching measurement error on learning outcomes and satisfaction of civil engineering students with different spatial ability
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of augmented reality (AR) using a 3D app in a smartphone on students’ learning outcomes and satisfaction in teaching angle measurement error to vocational high school students with different spatial ability. A quasi-experimental pretest/posttest was employed. There were 197 students from three vocational high schools in the southern, northern, and eastern part of Taiwan participated in this …

Due to COVID- 19 pandemic, schools all over the world have gone from full face-to-face to online lessons. This paper analyzed the influences of social networking sites (SNS) on secondary school students’ academic achievement. The original studies were extracted from the Web of Science database, and the review of the 27 selected journal articles revealed that the use of SNS is both positively and negatively related to secondary school students’ ac…
Relating university students’ online self-regulated English learning to motivational beliefs
This study investigated university students’ online self-regulated English learning (OSEL) and related it to their motivational beliefs in order to probe important psychological factors that may predict how students use self-regulated strategies to facilitate their online English learning. The data was gathered from 337 Thai university nursing students. The instruments used in this study were validated to measure motivational beliefs and OSEL in …

The effect of 3D-stereogram mobile AR on engineering drawing course outcomes among first-year vocational high schoolers with different spatial abilities
Engineering drawing is valuable in capturing geometric features, conveying engineering ideas, and creating a blueprint of the intended product. Engineering students usually perform orthographic projections, imagining a 3D situation and sketching its 2D representation. That requires imagination and mental visualization, determined by the learner’s spatial ability. This study proposes the infusion of an AR stereogram mobile application into an engi…

Thai EFL University Students' Productions of the English Past Counterfactuals and Their Influences from Interlanguage Fossilization
The English past counterfactuality is difficult for non-native learners to learn and understand due to cross-language discrepancies. Oftentimes, individuals unavoidably develop the interlanguage and this language system becomes fossilized regardless of the amount of exposed time and input. The purpose of the study was twofold: (a) to examine 126 Thai EFL university students' production of the English past counterfactuals through the grammar trans…
