Modelling state-level crash fatalities by a network-constrained inhomogeneous poisson point process
Traditional spatial analysis of traffic crashes often relies on planar density estimation, which ignores the topological constraints of the road network and limits the precision of risk assessment. To address this limitation, this study employs a Network-Constrained Inhomogeneous Poisson Point Process (IPPP) to model fatal crash risk across the diverse roadway environments of South Carolina. The model integrates high-resolution road geometry (slo…
Influence of Communist Ideology on Corporate Sustainability
Over a century of development, the Communist Party of China has effectively integrated its policies and practices, blending communist ideology with entrepreneurial spirit, and extending its influence into corporate management. However, the impact of communist ideology on business development, particularly on sustainable practices, has yet to be confirmed. Against this backdrop, this study uses data from publicly listed companies between 2011 and …
Breaking the burnout spiral
This study examines whether leader humor can mitigate employee job burnout and investigates the underlying mechanisms and boundary conditions of this relationship. Drawing on Conservation of Resources (COR) theory and Cognitive Appraisal Theory (CAT), we propose a moderated mediation model. Psychological capital mediates the link between leader humor and job burnout, while positive reciprocity belief moderates the direct effect of leader humor on…
How responsible leadership translates into voice
Grounded in social cognitive theory and social exchange theory, this study investigates how and under what conditions responsible leadership promotes employee voice behavior. Drawing on data from two waves of surveys involving 677 employees in China’s technology industry, we tested a moderated mediation model using structural equation modeling. Our findings reveal that (a) responsible leadership is positively associated with voice behavior; (b) t…
Inhibition of the p38/JNK Mapk pathway mediated by circadian rhythm genes
LGWWJXD reduced inflammation in rat lungs, protected against apoptosis, and reduced pathological lung damage to help improve lung function. The potential active ingredients in LGWWJXD, including Asarinin, 6-Shogaol, and Isoliquiritigenin, may regulate the expression of circadian rhythm-related genes, inhibited the p38/JNK MAPK pathway, and jointly suppressed the inflammatory response in combination with arginine biosynthesis and purine metabolism…
Two birds with one stone
In practice, the implementation of a circular economy often encounters market failures. Can government intervention, as proposed in Enns’ theory, help mitigate these failures? To address this question, this study examines the relationship between green finance and the circular economy using data from 279 Chinese cities between 2006 and 2021. The findings reveal that green finance significantly promotes the development of the circular economy. Sec…
Responsible leadership and employee creativity
In today’s uncertain organizational environment, employee creativity has become the key driver of enterprise sustainability. Although previous studies have found the influence of responsible leadership on employee creativity, there remains a lack of study on how responsible leadership promotes employee creativity via intrinsic motivation mechanisms and what situational factors may moderate this process. This paper aims to construct a moderate-med…

Where are GIScience faculty hired from? Analyzing faculty mobility and research themes through hiring networks
Academia is profoundly influenced by faculty hiring networks, which serve as critical conduits for knowledge dissemination and the formation of collaborative research initiatives. While extensive research in various disciplines has revealed the institutional hierarchies inherent in these networks, their impacts within GIScience remain underexplored. To fill this gap, this study analyzes the placement patterns of 946 GIScience faculty worldwide by…

Forensic efficiency and population genetic construction of Guizhou Gelao minority from Southwest China revealed by a panel of 23 autosomal STR loci
The first batch of genetic data for 23 autosomal STRs in 490 Geolao individuals from Guizhou was provided. The 23 STR panel can afford high genetic polymorphisms and discrimination power and can be efficiently applied to forensic practice in Guizhou Gelao population.A complex phylogenetic model influenced by ethnic, geographic, and linguistic factors was uncovered
Is urban innovation capacity shaping new models of economic development? Evidence from the circular economy
Circular economy (CE) theory emphasizes that following the reduction, reuse, and recycling (3R) principles can promote the practice of the CE; at the same time, innovative technologies support the feasibility of these principles. However, in academia, it remains unknown whether innovative technologies can be used to effectively implement CE theory. This study estimates the CE performance of 280 cities in China using the super‐efficiency SBM–data …
The Road to corporate sustainability
Genetic diversity of 23 STR loci of the Guizhou Tujia ethnic minority and the phylogenetic relationships with 22 other populations
We first obtained the population genetic data of Guizhou Tujia using the 23 STR system and demonstrated its value in forensic applications. Comprehensive population comparisons showed an evident genetic affinity pattern between populations that are geographically, ethnically and linguistically related
Internal validation of an improved system for forensic application
A novel multiplex comprising 41 Y-STR and 3 Y-InDel was developed for forensic application. The multiplex included rapidly mutating Y-STRs and low-medium mutating Y-STRs, which is compatible with many commonly used Y-STR kits. The multiplex is a powerful tool for distinguishing related males, familial searching, and constructing DNA databases
Sustainable agricultural management
Agricultural sustainable development is of significant importance for achieving food security, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, natural resource conservation, and economic development. We conducted a study using the 2015 China Agricultural Sustainable Development Plan (ASDP) as a natural experiment and employed the Difference‐in‐Differences (DID) model to estimate the impact of ASDP on agricultural carbon neutrality. Path anal…
Socio-demographic inequalities in the impacts of extreme temperatures on population mobility
Genetic characterisation for Yan’an Han population in Northern Shaanxi Province, China, via 38Y-STRs using YfilerTM Platinum

Updated population genetic data of 15 autosomal STR loci in a Shandong Han population from East China and genetic relationships among 26 Chinese populations
Our study updates the Shandong Han population database with a large sample size. These 15 STR loci in the Shandong Han population are more polymorphic and discriminatory than shown in previous data, which could be more applicable to personal identification and paternity testing, as well other population genetics studies
Heavy Metals in Sediment from the Urban and Rural Rivers in Harbin City, Northeast China
The concentrations and ecological risk of six widespread heavy metals (Cu, Cr, Ni, Zn, Cd and Pb) were investigated and evaluated in sediments from both urban and rural rivers in a northeast city of China. The decreasing trend of the average concentration of heavy metals was Zn > Cr > Cu > Pb > Ni > Cd in Majiagou River (urban) and was Zn > Cr > Pb > Cu > Ni > Cd in Yunliang River (rural). The results showed that the concentrations of Cd and Zn w…

Industrial Ecology Education at Wuhan University
China requires industrial ecology (IE) skills and knowledge to deal with the contradiction between rapid economic growth and subsequent environmental pollution and resource depletion. Industrial ecology education was introduced in China in 1997 and now a few Chinese universities offer IE courses. Wuhan University is one of them and since 1999 has committed itself to promoting IE education. The university offers different curricula for different m…
