  • Can leader gratitude expression improve employee followership behavior? The role of emotional expression authenticity

Yanghao Zhu, Lirong Long et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2023

Open Access•Silu Chen, Yanghao Zhu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Leadership &…•2023•References: 35

Researchers have become increasingly interested in exploring leaders’ behaviours that promote followers’ proactive behaviours, but the literature is limited to leadership styles and generally does not consider leader displays of emotion. In this study, the impact of leader expressions of gratitude on followers’ proactive behaviours was examined from a self-evaluative perspective. Data from a field study ( N = 184) and an experimental vignette stu…

  • Ethical human resource management mitigates the positive association between illegitimate tasks and employee unethical behaviour

Open Access•Silu Chen, Wenxing Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Business Ethics, the Environment…•2022

Drawing on social cognitive theory and social information processing theory, we developed a moderated mediation model in which moral disengagement was theorised as a unique mechanism to explain why employees engage in unethical behaviours after performing illegitimate tasks. Ethical human resource management (HRM) was proposed as a boundary condition that influences this mechanism. We tested the model using time‐lagged supervisor–subordinate matc…

A sample of 312 employees at one Chinese manufacturing company suggested that employees with narcissistic personality are more apt to exhibit taking charge at work via their energy at work. In addition, the results a…

  • The mechanism and effect of leader humility

Jianghua Mao, Jianqiao Liao et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2017
