  • Elaborating the Motivations and Attitudes Driving Interest in Voluntary Biodiversity Credits

Open Access•Gamze Yakar‐Pritchard, Andrew Greenman et al.•ARTICLE•Business Strategy and the…•2026

Global biodiversity loss has prompted the search for new sources of conservation finance, such as voluntary biodiversity credits (VBCs). However, despite optimistic market projections, current uptake of VBCs is limited. Adopting an interpretive approach, we analyse 21 semistructured interviews with early market actors (buyers, sellers, intermediaries) in the United Kingdom to elaborate the motivations and attitudes fuelling interest in VBCs. Spec…

  • Testing the incremental validity of the Vroom-Jago versus Vroom-Yetton models of participation in decision making

    Open Access•Richard Field, Richard H G Field et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Behavioral Decision…•1998•References: 2

In three samples of manager-reported decisions the Vroom–Jago model's predictions were supported. Decisions that more closely fit the recommended decision method were rated as higher in effectiveness. The model was also found to account for more variance in decision effectiveness than the prior Vroom–Yetton model. It was also found that the Vroom–Jago model's greater precision in situational assessment and derived prescriptions allow for greater …

  • Constructive controversy, the Vroom‐Yetton model, and managerial decision‐making

    Open Access•Dean Tjosvold, William C Wedley et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Organizational Behavior•1986•Cited by: 5•References: 3

Empirical tests have indicated that following the Vroom‐Yetton Normative Model of leadership predicts reliably to successful managerial decision‐making. However, it does not consider the kind of social interaction among decision makers. Recent experiments have demonstrated that controversy constructively discussed can facilitate decision‐making. To see whether constructive controversy can supplement the Vroom‐Yetton model, 58 managers enrolled in…

  • Climate

    Open Access•Richard Field, R H George Field et al.•ARTICLE•Human Relations•1982•Cited by: 7•References: 55

Climate is presented as a perceptual attribute on an organizational, group, and individual level. The climate construct is defined and key issues concerning climate, which have been identified by past research, are addressed. These issues are level of analysis, measurement, validity, redundancy and usefulness. A model which represents the traditional conceptualization of climate is given. This model is later revised by integrating aspects from th…
