  • Joint exposure to PM2.5, warm-season heat, and sedentary behavior accelerates incident lung cancer in ageing Chinese adults

Open Access•Yang-Zhong Wang, Yangzhong Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Objective: Joint exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and prolonged sedentary behavior in later life may erode physiological reserve and hasten carcinogenesis, yet evidence quantifying their combined impact on incident lung cancer among older Chinese adults is sparse. We investigated whether co-occurrence of high ambient PM2.5 and extensive sitting time accelerates incident lung cancer in a nationally representative cohort. Methods: . Eigh…

  • Evaluating the efficacy of three classical EEG paradigms in the discrimination of bipolar depression

Open Access•Chen Yang, Yao Pi et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2025

This study indicates that the eyes closed experimental paradigm more effectively demonstrates the electrophysiological disparities between patients with BD and HCs, in comparison to the eyes open paradigm and the action observation-based free viewing paradigms, as determined through the analysis of various outcome metrics

  • The association between resilience and fatigue among mariners during ocean voyages

Open Access•Zhanying Sun, Nan Tang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Resilience exerts significant direct and indirect effects on fatigue of mariners during ocean voyages. In addition, coping style and psychological stress partially and serially mediate the relation between resilience and fatigue. The results have significant implications for the intervention and prevention of fatigue, providing additional evidence for the relationship between resilience and fatigue among mariners during ocean voyages
