    Open Access•Deborah K Reed, Sterett H Mercer et al.•ARTICLE•Assessing Writing•2026

Having accurate and timely information on students’ argumentative writing skills is necessary to foster their improvement. Open Access•Angus Kittelman, Sterett H Mercer et al.•ARTICLE•Remedial and Special Education•2023

District leadership teams perform key roles in building the systems to support schools in the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). However, there is a lack of measures for assessment and progress monitoring specific to district PBIS systems. To address this gap, we evaluated the validity of a measure of implementation of district PBIS systems, the District Systems Fidelity Inventory (DSFI). Using 183 school dis…

    Open Access•Jennifer Vonk, Stephanie E Jett et al.•ARTICLE•Child Development•2020

Children (predominantly white and middle class) between 3 and 6 years (M = 55.12 months, N = 145 at Time 1, N = 102 at Time 2) participated in the prosocial choice test at two time points approximately 10 months apart. Children could share with strangers, close friends, nonfriends, and in a control, no recipient condition. Children shared more rewards with friends over time. Age interacted with recipient type such that older children had a higher…

    Open Access•Kent McIntosh, Sterett H Mercer et al.•ARTICLE•Educational Researcher•2018•Cited by: 2•References: 37

In this 3-year prospective study, we tested the extent to which school-, practice-, and district-level variables predicted sustained implementation for schools in various stages of implementation of school-wide positive behavioral interventions and supports (SWPBIS) Tier 1 (universal) systems. Staff from 860 schools in 14 U.S. states completed a research-validated measure of factors associated with sustained implementation of school interventions…

The present article describes the development and initial validation of the Inventory of Microaggressions Against Black Individuals (IMABI) using a sample of 385 undergraduates who self-identified as Black or African American. The IMABI is a 14-item, unidimensional measure of racial microaggressions that captures both microinsults and microinvalidations. The present findings support the IMABI as a reliable and valid measure of microaggressions th…
