  • Assessment of Preferences among Company Names by Semantic Differential and Free Association Techniques

    Semantic differential and free-association techniques were used to assess preferences for two company names among 20 big game hunters (aged 20 to 43 yr.) from Colorado. One name had more positive stimulus value and more favorable associations.     Differences in study habits and attitudes were found in samples of general psychology students ( N = 318) drawn at varying times during the academic term, although differences in manifest needs were not.   • Effect of Item Meaningfulness on a Self—Ideal-Self Measure

    60 men and 60 women rated self and ideal-self on a 30-item rating scale. Ss then chose the ten items of most and least personal meaning.
