    John Kautter, Melvin J Ingber et al.•ARTICLE•Medical Care•2012•References: 2

INTRODUCTION: The continued success of the Medicare Part D program is contingent on appropriate Medicare payment adjustments for the projected drug costs of Part D plan enrollees. This article describes a major revision of these "risk adjustments," intended to more accurately match payments to costs, especially for high-cost, disadvantaged populations. • Machinal (review)

    Sara Freeman•ARTICLE•Theatre Journal•2003

Mechelle Moe is an odd looking actress. Small, pale, with tiny close-set eyes peering below her stiffly styled wig, she shrinks onstage only to shoot a raspy melodious torrent of words that mount toward the expressionistic shrei that lurks below the text of Machinal: "I will not submit." Moe must be watched, yet she can be unbearable to hear. Accompanied by an onstage cello player echoing her voice, Moe courted and assaulted the audience—plaintiv…

  • Adaptation After Darwin: Timberlake Wertenbaker's Evolving Texts

    Sara Freeman•ARTICLE•Modern Drama•2002•References: 2

After Darwin, Timberlake Wertenbaker's play about the effect of Charles Darwin's theories of evolution on late-twentieth-century social assumptions and moral imperatives, opened 8 July 1998 at the Hampstead Theatre in London. Manuscript evidence shows, however, that Wertenbaker had been chewing on ideas about how cultural hybridity, gender roles, and recent political upheavals interact with Darwin's theories for more than a decade. In the late 19…
