Vasectomized Men
In November 1971 a questionnaire study was done on the first 236 men vasectomized at the Margaret Sanger Research Bureau in New New City. The group which did not respond to the questionnaire was less educated and more Catholic than the group that did respond. The findings indicate that the most important reasons for getting a vasectomy for these men were 1) desire to avoid a large family; 2) concern about the side effects of the pill; and 3) a ge…

This paper discusses a study in which the psychosexual changes and reactions of the vasectomized males at the Margaret Sanger Research Bureau were reported. In November 1971; a questionnaire was mailed to the first 236 consecutive clients who had the operation during the period October 1969 to September 1970. 189 responded giving a response rate of 80%. 28.2% reported greater sexual desire after vasectomy and 70.7% reported their desire was about…
A vasectomy service in a free‐standing family planning center
The experience in establishing the first outpatient Vasectomy Service as an integral part of a family planning service in a center that has offered other family planning services for 50 years is summarized. The Vasectomy Service was opened in October 1969 at the Margaret Sanger Research Bureau Inc. Service was the primary objective. Sperm migration in the human female
13 patients being studied for primary infertility had postcoital tests done between 3 and 5 minutes after ejaculation. Husbands had ejaculates of excellent characteristics. Thorough examination of the women showed no defects; all were ovulatory and each had 3-5 previous excellent postcoital tests.
