  • Collaborative Leadership Education Through Community Partnerships

Heidi A Monroe, Grace Seo et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Nursing Education•2025

BACKGROUND: Nursing leadership development among prelicensure nursing students is critically important to address 21st century standards of care for diverse populations. Entry-level nurses are expected to confidently address issues of health equity, and collaborate, communicate, and lead as members of interprofessional teams in the community. • Trajectory of Obesity and the Impact of Eating Behaviors on Obesity in Preschool Children

Open Access•Kyeong Hun Lee, Baek Seung Kim et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2024

Background : Early childhood obesity is highly associated with obesity in adolescents and adults. However, studies on specific eating behaviors that have a decisive effect on obesity in early childhood (aged 3-5 years) are scarce. We hypothesized that critical risk factors associated with eating behaviors leading to obesity at ages of 3-5 years may be different. To confirm this hypothesis, we conducted a study on the risk factors of obesity relat…

We conducted a multi-country stu…

  • Point-of-care viral load testing among adolescents and young adults living with HIV in Haiti

Open Access•Lindsey K Reif, Marie Elmase Belizaire et al.•ARTICLE•AIDS Care•2022

HIV viral load (VL) monitoring can reinforce antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence. Standard VL testing requires high laboratory capacity and coordination between clinic and laboratory which can delay results. A randomized trial comparing point-of-care (POC) VL testing to standard VL testing among 150 adolescents and young adults, ages 10-24 years, living with HIV in Haiti determined if POC VL testing could return faster results and improve ART …

  • The Haiti cardiovascular disease cohort

Open Access•Jean Lookens, Olga Tymejczyk et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2020

The Haiti CVD Cohort is the largest population-based cohort study evaluating CVD risk factors and CVD among adults in urban Haiti with the goal of understanding the drivers of the CVD epidemic in Haiti. Study outcomes are comparable with existing international cohorts, and the biobank will provide important data for future research. Our goal is to translate findings from this study into pragmatic prevention and treatment interventions to fight th…
