Sex differences in relational aggression were not observed and was not significantly different across age groups
Psychometric Characteristics of the Iranian Acculturation Scale
Reliability of the Social Skills Rating System for Preschool Children in Iran
The purpose was to investigate stability and internal consistency of the Social Skills Rating System in a group of 304 (161 boys and 143 girls) ages 3 to 65 yr. (M=4.7, SD= 1.0) preschool children in Iran. Test-retest reliability and Cronbach coefficients alpha were high; moderate to high intercorrelations were obtained between subdomains while low interrater correlations were obtained
Self-Perception of Competence by Iranian Children
The purpose of this study was to study the responses of Iranian elementary school children to the Perceived Competence Scale for Children. The items were translated with minor changes in wording to make them more comprehensible to Iranian children. The scale was administered to 199 children ages 9 to 11 in Grades 4 to 5 in four elementary schools from two socioeconomically different districts in Shiraz. Analysis showed satisfactory internal relia…

Reliability of the Social Skills Rating System in a Group of Iranian Children
The purpose of this study was to investigate reliability of the Social Skills Rating Systems of Gresham and Elliott for use in Iran. The sample consisted of 304 students aged 6 to 12 years, selected from the elementary schools in Shiraz, Iran. Parents' and teachers' ratings of social skills and behavioural problems and self-rating of social skills were applied in this study. Pearson correlations between parents' and teachers' ratings were low to …
Correlations between Parents' and Teachers' Ratings of Social Skills for a Group of Developmentally Disabled Children in Iran
Parents' and teachers' ratings of social skills and behavioural problems for 89 special education students aged 8 to 15 yr. were measured using the Social Skills Rating System of Gresham and Elliott. The sample was selected in a school for educable mentally retarded children in Shiraz, Iran. The low to moderate correlations between the two sets of ratings suggest that assessment of social skills and behavioural problems should include the use of …
Correlations for Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised and the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence for Iranian Children
This study focused on the relationship between the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children—Revised (WISC—R) and the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI) given to 40 6-yr.-old Iranian children. Pearson correlations between the WISC—R and the WPPSI IQs and between scaled scores on the corresponding subtests were significant. The comparison of mean IQs and scaled scores indicates that the WISC—R yielded a significantly highe…
Correlations for Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children—Revised and the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence for Iranian Children
This study focused on the relationship between the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children--Revised (WISC--R) and the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI) given to 40 6-yr.-old Iranian children. Pearson correlations between the WISC--R and the WPPSI IQs and between scaled scores on the corresponding subtests were significant. The comparison of mean IQs and scaled scores indicates that the WISC--R yielded a significantly h…
A Short Form of the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence for Use in Iran
Data from the standardization of the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence in Shiraz, Iran (193 girls, 203 boys 4 to 6.5 yr. old) were used to develop a short form. Four subtests (Vocabulary, Arithmetic, Picture Completion, and Block Design) were selected on the basis of their high correlations with Full Scale IQs. The validity coefficients were high and significant. The standard errors for the short form were 4.0 to 6.0 points. Th…
Some Normative Data on the Bender Gestalt Test Performance of Iranian Children
The Bender Gestalt test of visuomotor coordination was applied to a sample of Iranian children (N=1,600) aged between 6.0 years and 10 years and 11 months attending grades 1 through 5 of 16 public primary schools in Shiraz city, southern Iran. The administration of the test and its scoring followed the standard procedures recommended by Koppitz. The reliability of the test in its new context was investigated through readministering it to a group …
Retest Reliability of the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence Restandardized in Iran
Retest reliability of the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence test scores was performed in Iran using 30 subjects in a time interval of 5 to 6 wk. The results of this analysis suggest that this restandardization of the WPPSI provides a consistent measure of intelligence for application in Iran. Reliability coefficients of .83, .90, and .88 were found for Verbal IQ, Performance IQ, and Full Scale IQ, respectively
