The deceased were buried individually on their backs, stretched out, with their heads facing the eastern sector, roughly at the level of the ancient horizon or in sha…
Burials of the Kara-Koba Type of the Pazyryk Culture on the Charysh River
This article discusses burials in stone boxes of the 4th–3rd century BC, attributed to the Kara-Koba type of the Pazyryk culture, along the Charysh River. Since ancient times, the valleys of the Charysh River served as a route connecting the cultures of the steppes and mountains. This intermediate geographical location left its mark on the burial rites of the ethnic groups which left behind these burials in stone boxes. In accordance with traditi…

Six cremation burials were found at the cemetery. We focus on the most informative burial 16, while other burials are described in brief. The bodies were cremated outsi…

"Hellenes" or "Scythians"
China’s contacts with the Greek world, as shown in previous research, are chronologically extensive. It is certain that they began in antiquity and continued until the developed Middle Ages (Roman Embassy to the Song China). However, in domestic and foreign scientific literature there are often very dubious examples of the Far East and Hellenic culture links. In this article we will examine some of them. It is noteworthy that in the Greek-Chinese…
Exploring Key Issues in the History of the Zhongshan Kingdom
Belt plaques of Staroaley culture. Origin and usage
Chariotry and Horse Riding Among the Scythian-Like Population of Nothern China (The Yanglang Culture)
э.) и Мацзяюань (III—II вв. э.)

Bracteates" and "indications" in the context of the monetary tradition of the great silk road (on the example of the 1989 year Xi'an find)
The proposed article publishes a little-known imprint of gold foil from China — the imitation of the Byzantine coin, presumably Anastasia I. The arcticle also considers other finds of this kind and terminology of coin-like products, dividing them into three groups: gold coins weighing about 4.5 gr.; lightweight copies of Byzantine coins, called imitations; impressions of Byzantine coins, called indications. Today more than a hundred of the above-…

Rattle-mirrors from the Middle Urals
Genesis of the Silk Road and Its Northern Directions
This article argues that the conclusions in the prevailing modern scientific literature on the formation of the Great Silk Road 3rd‐2nd millennium BC or from the 4th‐3rd centuries BC cannot be considered reasonable in light of available scientific and archival evidence. Until the 3rd‐2nd centuries BC at the western and northern borders of Xinjiang Region the predominantly Caucasoid population of Xinjiang contacted the related cultures of Kazakhst…
Tagar bits from count zichi collection (hungary)
