Redefining Hasidism
This study examines Elie Wiesel’s overlooked poem “The Tale of a Niggun,” originally published in 1978 but forgotten until its republication in 2020. Through literary and historical analysis, the paper demonstrates how Wiesel artfully reconstructs the essence of Hasidism and the Hasidic Niggun, offering an innovative post-Holocaust perspective. This article examines the evolution and transformation in the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s perspective concerning the Holocaust.
