The effects of two types of informational inputs on cognitions and behavioral choices of leaders were examined experimentally. Informational inputs were feedback regarding group performance and information about the motivation and ability of the 76 individuals evaluated. Analysis indicated that these informational inputs affect the frequency of verbalizations of evaluations and script tracks. The implications of the results for understanding cognitions in applied settings are discussed
