Most of the studies conducted so far on the Sport Education model (SE), have been conducted in British and American countries with students of the secondary education (between 12 and 18 years). In these studies, the main objective has been focused on the analysis of the influence of SE in the teaching of sports skills. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the initial implementation experiences of a teacher and his students, in the elementary education. The sample consisted of 48 students in their third grade (29 boys and 19 girls) and a teacher with ten years experience. A teaching unit (eight sessions) under the criteria of the Sport Education, from “Dodgeball” was designed and implemented The results show how students who participated, appreciated the teaching model, and improved his perception in most of the aspects that define it (competence, literate and enthusiastic) In addition, the professor pointed out, a very useful experience at the professional level. These results are consistent with those found previously in research on the SE in different countries. SE has a positive effect as curricular model in the 3rd grade of the elementary education, because let the students to be more competent, more skilled and most enthusiastic in games in physical education classes
