This article presents an eight-lesson elementary school team handball unit designed to develop game play techniques such as throwing and catching, alongside tactical understanding in an authentic learning context. The proposed team handball unit consists of two phases. The first phase (lessons 1-4) starts with passing games with a focus on maintaining possession of the ball without time and spatial pressure and on restoring the triangle. Phase two (lessons 5-8) builds on 3v1 lead passing with invasion principles into 3v2 game scenarios. The development of offensive tactics is designed to create scoring opportunities. Techniques like passing with a chest pass or an overhand pass, catching, and shooting combined with tactical aspects such as positioning, game strategies, and decision-making are introduced early in the unit. From phase one, several safety-related rules are applied, along with additional modifications to adapt the game. Children work together in fixed, heterogeneous teams to foster team affiliation and game play. The assessment rubric serves as both a feedback tool during each lesson to inform students and teachers about progress and an evaluation tool at the end of the unit. Finally, suggestions concerning content development as well as key reminders for task presentation, providing feedback, and managerial routines are included
