This study examines whether adolescent bullying victimisation is a precursor to adult intimate partner violence victimisation and, if so, whether specific individual, family, and peer/school factors protect against this form of revictimisation. Nationally representative Australian data showed that women bullied during adolescence (aged 14–15) had 1.87 times higher odds of being victimised by an intimate partner (aged 18–19). Additionally, an adjusted logistical regression revealed that school belonging decreased the odds of revictimisation. Overall, this study shows that there is a relationship between the two forms of victimisation and that by reducing school bullying, IPV victimisation should decrease.
