De caráter qualitativo, este texto tem por objetivo essencial analisar, no âmbito da investigação em educação com crianças, a invisibilidade ou a visibilidade ético-epistemológica que lhes é dada. Pretende-se saber qual o modus operandi ético e epistemológico que os adultos, enquanto investigadores, demonstram relativamente às crianças, no que diz respeito a quatro dimensões específicas que se cruzam: 1) consentimento informado; 2) confidencialidade, anonimato e privacidade; 3) relações de poder entre adulto e crianças; 4) autoria da produção do conhecimento. Perante cada um destes aspetos, pretende-se saber se o investigador compreende e assume a sua tarefa fundamental neste processo de profundo questionamento crítico e de reflexividade ético-epistemológica que se impõe, tendo consciência de que não existe uma ética à la carte pronta a aplicar em qualquer circunstância
