This article explores the strategies currently adopted by Netflix to make dubbing work in Anglophone territories and to improve the quality of dubbed content. Measures implemented are examined within the context of the Spanish TV series La Casa de Papel (2017-2021), which was redubbed into English by the platform in order to maintain high quality standards and minimise the so-called "dubby effect". The comparative analysis shows that, although several actions have been followed to raise quality, the lack of habituation to dubbing might have a significant impact on how dubbed content is to be received and judged by the target audience
