Home-based telework and worker health and well-being across service occupations
The rapid expansion of home-based telework since COVID-19 has diversified the remote workforce to include service occupations centered on real-time interaction with patients, clients, and customers. Yet the literature on telework and health remains largely oriented toward the experiences of knowledge workers, obscuring how home-based telework shapes the health and well-being of interaction-intensive service workers. We conducted a Critical Interp…

What Drives Bricolage? The Effects of Learning Orientation, Resource Constraints and Environmental Turbulence
Recognizing the growing interest in bricolage as an organizational capability that helps overcome resource constraints, this study adopts a resource management perspective to explore the relationship between learning orientation and bricolage, focusing on the moderating effects of resource constraints and environmental turbulence. It first reviews literature related to learning, bricolage and environmental turbulence to develop hypotheses, then t…
Social and Emotional Competencies as Gender-specific Moderators of the Co-occurrence of Bullying Victimization and Perpetration
Bullying is a pervasive public health concern, with a well-established association between victimization and perpetration. However, protective factors associated with this concurrent involvement remain less understood, particularly in non-Western contexts. Social competence and emotional competence are two distinct yet related factors that may moderate this association, though evidence is limited. Moreover, few studies have examined gender differ…
The right to health for socioeconomically disadvantaged TB patients in South Korea
“I would add”
Purpose: Specific social and emotional learning (SEL) programs have been found to promote a myriad of positive outcomes, but definitions of the broader concept of SEL are varied in its practice and scholarly usage. It is unclear whether recent conceptual expansions of SEL to include Systemic and Transformative approaches shape the understanding of SEL among educational leaders. Communities of Practice (CPs) may serve as a dynamic knowledge source…
Social–Emotional Competence Growth Profiles in Upper Elementary School Years and Pathways to Mental Health Outcomes in Middle School
Social-emotional competence (SEC) is an essential factor for healthy youth development. However, few studies have examined patterns of SEC growth trajectories among non-Western youth, and whether and how their SEC growth patterns during elementary school years predict later mental health. Using five-year panel data on a nationally representative sample of South Korean youth ( N = 2607; 49.6% girl, M age = 10, SD age = 0.1 at baseline), we first i…
Uncovering Behavioral Patterns in Creative Thinking
Examining cognitive dynamics in the creative process is crucial for advancing creative theories and creativity education but has been historically understudied due to the technical challenges in collecting fine‐grained data underlying cognitive processes. The PISA 2022 Creative Thinking assessment has the potential to address this limitation by offering rich, technology‐based process data that capture cognitive and affective dynamics. To explore …

Pilgrimage Routes to Mecca in the 10th-15th Centuries and Timurid Revival Efforts
Gender, racial-ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in the development of social-emotional competence among elementary school students
Social-emotional competence (SEC) has been demonstrated to be a crucial factor for student mental health and is malleable through the high-quality implementation of effective school-based social and emotional learning (SEL) programs. SEL is now widely practiced in the United States as a Tier 1 strategy for the entire student body, yet it remains unclear whether disparities exist in the development of SEC across socio-culturally classified subgrou…

Connecting Macroscopic, Molecular, and Symbolic Representations with Immersive Technologies in High School Chemistry
Redox reaction is a difficult concept to teach and learn in chemistry courses at the secondary level. Although the significance of connecting macroscopic, molecular, and symbolic levels of representation has been emphasized in the chemistry education literature, most redox instruction involves only macroscopic and symbolic representations. To address this challenge, we designed a blended-reality immersive environment (BRE) model, which blends a t…

Does demand-side innovation policy drive lock-in? Global evidence from solar energy in 155 countries
Demand-side innovation policies have recently been playing a significant role in solving contemporary challenges, especially in the energy sector. They facilitate the introduction and diffusion of mature technologies with low technical risk in the market, thereby creating a demand for innovation centered on mature technologies. It has the potential to induce lock-ins to mature technologies, which may cause long-term problems. This study investiga…
Reconsidering Timurid Currency System
Item Response Models in Psychometrika and Psychometric Textbooks

Amid this context, our research team created a serious educational game (SEG) designed for elementary science learners. Previous …
The corporate killing movement in South Korea
South Korea has one of the highest occupational injury fatalities among the OECD countries over the past decades. It was in this context that the ‘Corporate Killing’ Movement was initiated in the early 2000s with the aim of radically reframing recurring fatal workplace injuries as a social problem by claiming that ‘a worker’s death is a corporate killing’. By drawing on Roy Bhaskar’s dialectical critical realism in combination with framing litera…

Multilevel Structural Equation Modeling for Social Work Researchers
Objective: To achieve the grand challenge goal of unleashing the power of prevention, we must determine how and under what conditions an intervention leads to desired outcomes. These questions remain largely unknown partly due to analytical challenges involving testing mediation and moderation hypotheses with multiple dependent variables in nested data. This paper introduces multilevel structural equation modeling (MSEM) and demonstrates multilev…
