Organisational onboarding programmes play a crucial role in the integration and retention of new employees. This study investigates the influence of the onboarding process on retention intentions, considering workplace attachment and supervisor support as mediating variables. A cross-sectional quantitative methodology was applied to a sample of 227 active professionals. The results indicate that organisational investment in onboarding practices positively influences retention intentions. Workplace attachment showed a significant mediating effect, whereas supervisor support lost statistical relevance when analysed in parallel. These findings underscore the strategic importance of onboarding as a lever for talent retention. By highlighting the mediating role of affective attachment, the study offers practical guidance for organisations aiming to design more effective integration processes that foster long-term commitment and reduce turnover risk
