Рассматривается влияние гендерных и психологических факторов на электоральное поведение американских избирателей на выборах в Конгресс США в 1992 г., объявленном ООН “годом женщины”. Показано, что на выборах в Палату представителей Конгресса США избиратели-женщины чаще, чем избиратели-мужчины, поддерживали кандидатов-женщин. Отмечено, что на электоральное поведение женщин большее влияние оказывали позиции кандидатов по гендерным аспектам общественной жизни. На выборах в Сенат влияние гендерных факторов на электоральное поведение избирателей-женщин обнаружилось еще более отчетливо
